Half a Sister

She doesn’t know yet

How I spent my seven year head start

She doesn’t know yet

And I can’t teach her

She doesn’t know yet

I can’t put it in a lesson

If only I could take our brains

Split them down the middle

Half of me, half of her

Then she might know all that I do

How to phrase her words

When to hold her tongue

To differentiate footsteps

And when to give up

Then I might know all that she does

When to speak

When to ask

How to live

To know too much

Or to know too little

Knowledge is only ever good in halves
