We started this magazine as a passion project, with a mission to create a teen-led magazine where like-minded individuals could share their experiences and identities.
Nowadays, there’s scarce opportunities for young adults to publish their writing on their own terms while maintaining the rights to it. We wanted to build a space for you to do that, free of charge.
Often, young writers and creatives worry their work won’t be taken seriously due to their age, background or skill level. We want to eliminate any fears of not being accepted by appreciating the muti-facets of writing and the authors behind it, reminding you that your story matters.
The idea of “The Corner Cafe” comes from memories of nostalgic days in your favorite small town, sitting in that one coffee shop that you could spend hours in. It draws on inspiration from our favorite movies, TV shows, music, and books. We wanted a place to share that warm feeling you get when the breeze dances through the curtains while you’re reading your favorite book and you stop to appreciate the beauty of the moment.
We hope to achieve all of this through your poetry, short stories, journals, art, photography, and other media by releasing seasonal issues that correspond with a central theme in order to inspire and resonate with our audiences.
It is the greatest pleasure to be able to share the art of writing, and we hope you can feel that same pleasure when you see your work published.
All the best,
Hayden Arnett, Editor-In-Chief
