Dreams In June
It’s mid-June and I’m in love with hope
The summer air has worked its strongest charms, Ive fallen in love with
this wretched season
This ‘sweet like honeysuckle’ lapse of hoping and breathing without cost
I feast on soft bread and swollen berries
My cat spends her days in the kitchen window
My heart is drowsy like a foal
I let the earth drink my sorrows away before I’m swept back into the rush of it all
I faint into the warmth of the night, and in my dreams I meet myself again
